I have been asked by many people to post shea butter recipes for hair, skin, and body. It seems that the internet is saturated with many so-called recipes that make false claims about shea butter. To be honest, Shea Butter can stand alone with no other ingredients. Much of what we use today in the form of shea butter is very minimal. Many lotions, creams and hair care products have such a small percentage of shea butter. Did you know that many of the lotions are only about 3% shea butter in content? The majority is water, stabilizers, and other non-essential ingredients. Most of these do not add moisture to the skin. I recently told a young lady to use just the raw shea butter she purchased from our site for her son who is suffering from severe eczema. She described to me what sounded like a bad case of eczema. I urged her that since her son’s skin was sensitive, that she start with just the one ingredient and evaluate his tolerability. She was hesistant to use the raw shea butter in it’s natural state. She wanted the shea butter to look smooth, creamy and pretty. I told her we have such product, but when you are dealing with a chronic problem it is always best to use the most active ingredient and in the case its shea butter. When shea butter cured my eczema, I was only using raw shea butter, I later added the ingredients such as essential oils and fragrance.

Additionally, many of you have purchased expensive lotions, shampoos, and skin creams only to stumble upon the benefits of shea butter and are now left with an inferior products. I say, don’t throw the product away. Simply add shea butter to it and make it a better product. Shea Butter in any recipe is a good recipe.

Thank you for your advice and tips, I must say I have always believed in natural health and beauty products as I always thought it was very strange that people used creams and potions on their bodies which had so many additives and chemicals in them – Shea butter on its own in its raw and unrefined state, is what I use all over and would never use anything else 🙂
