Hey friends! Let’s talk Potassium. Last week my blood pressure was extremely high. I posted on FaceBook my blood pressure and saw after an hour of drinking the Jamaica Water how my blood pressure came down. I want you to know one of the reasons why the Jamaica Water worked for me and others. Did you know that high blood pressure can be a vitamin deficiency? Your heart needs potassium in order to beat correctly and maintain a safe rhythm. However, you may not know that many of the blood pressure medication causes this deficiency? Yep, Yep! Here’s what my symptoms were: Anxiousness, Palpitations and leg cramps. I also remind you that I was off medication for 3 days. The RDA( recommended daily allowance) for Potassium is 4700 mg. However, most supplements only have 99 mg. I looked at my multi-vitamin and it had NO potassium in it at all. It’s a great brand so I thought. Of all my nutritional supplements only the Emergen C had potassium at only 200mg. To be honest, I can’t eat a thousand bananas or avocados (just fell in love with these) but seriously, how am I going to kick this blood pressure? Without realizing it, the Jamaica water has calcium, potassium, and magnesium the three minerals that play a big role and gets along well with the heart. Hibiscus and Hawthorne and my other potent ingredients are what got my heart to working right.

It’s going to be a challenge to get the recommended daily allowance by eating your way into health.   You would need to consume foods that are rich in potassium each day.  This means careful planning.  For me, it means strategic planning.  You see Food is Now My Medicine.  I vowed to be off of all my medications for diabetes, hypertension, fibromyalgia, and anxiety.  Whew I said it!   It’s out in the universe.  So I got to be accountable.  Potassium helps regulate the muscle contractions of the heart and help to maintain healthy nerve function.  So if I add this in my diet, BAM!  Heart and anxiety a thing of the past!  For the most part, I’m 95% plant-based.  I still used chicken stock (so kill me) and (if some veggies are cooked in meat, I just remove the meat).  I’m not a meat hater!  I want to leave my options open if I decided to eat meat on Thanksgiving or Christmas.  MY TRUTH!

BUT HERE ARE SOME SIGNS OF POTASSIUM DEFICIENCY:

  1. Fatigue
  2. Muscle Cramps and Spasms
  3. GI Issues
  4. Heart Palpitations
  5. Joint Stiffness
  6. Numbness
  7. Tingling

So try to the Jamaica Water of any electrolyte drink that brings you closer to the recommended daily allowance to make your heart happy.   Later we will discuss foods that are rich in potassium like bananas and avocados.  Instead of getting a prescription for high blood pressure make sure you don’t just need a potassium supplement.
